hannaramaa | Mine for example. I'm an Aries with Gemini rising, so I should be this gorgeous, svelte being right? No. Not at all. I've got stout legs and a big behind, and a broad back. I feel extra Taurean. So either I'm a Taurus rising like my Vedic chart proclaims, OR I can figure out how my metabolic system works (consulting a professional of course, but I'm curious about this astrologically.) I assume the first place we look is our Mars, the sign and the house and then... what? The 6th house? Is there anything else I can look at? On top of all of this has anybody ever researched what foods each sign processes easiest? For example say Geminis do best eating light, or they need lots of carbs, or what have you. I really want to start losing weight but I feel like it's going to go a lot slower now that I'm 24 vs. when I was 18. :/ |
StarlightSmileSupreme | There's only one way I have found to lose weight and that's to eat less. It's the only thing that has ever worked for me. People will say it's not about that, it's about thyroids and whatnots, but it always has been for me. Exercising/jogging helps too but if I eat too much, even with jogging, I won't lose anything. |
ail221 | Most Gemini influenced people I know live on carbs O___O they burn up those carbs really quick. One works at this really expansive chocolate shop and he eats a lot of sweets yet he's model thin >___>. |
starfairy | The Gem risings I know can certainly eat a lot, but they burn it off very quickly because they cannot sit still! One of my close friends is a Gem rising (sag sun with Taurus moon), and she's constantly flitting about.. She's skinny as a rake, but eats a lot of fast food. It's also genetics; her whole family is very skinny. So, keep that body moving! lol |
Kerosene | ^^ This is true, I eat so much food. All I eat is junk food, carbs are my life. Pasta and noodles every day please? I don't gain weight but I do sport a minor beer belly for a few days because of all the food intake. I call it my weekly pregnancy..... And child birth is well.... the end of every week...Whats your chart ruler doing? Op that could be the issues with losing weight etc. My chart ruler is strong so perhaps good genetics? My hair and nails grows very fast. Which is annoying because it requires so much up keep especially since I like more dramatic hair styles... I'm jealous of people with slow growing hair.. . If youre into asteroids you should look at dna. Mines in capricorn which probably influences a more lanky and bony body type. |
ail221 | Actually transits hitting your natal placements are good for weight loss. At my lowest weight Transit Saturn in my 4th was square my ascendant tight and Transit pluto was quincunx my asc and Sun exact. Taurus is venusian so there is a association with decadence, cutting out sugar in all forms except fruits and vegetables could do you good. |

Gemini rising and I can relate so much! I eat a lot but I don't really gain weight. The biggest weight gain I had so far was 12 pounds in 2 months but I lost all of it due to stress. Genetically speaking, my mom was like me in her younger years, even skinnier. She gained weight after giving birth to her fourth child. She is an Aries sun w/ Aries rising. I should probably check my DNA asteroid too.. |
starfairy | I agree with ail about the transits. Swampys is having Saturn square her Sun/Venus in the 6th house, and she has dramatically changed her eating habits recently.. With Gem rising, Saturn will be transiting your 6th house soon, if it hasn't begun already. I think Saturn transiting the 6th is a good weight-loss transit. Watch out for Jupiter transiting your 1st, though; that is seen as a weight gain transit for some. Personally, Jupiter through my 1st house did not result in weight gain for me, though.. |
LinaG | I have aries AC and sun sag, moon capricorn. For me is all about exercise. If I dont eat and dont exercise, I wont gain weight but I wont lose weight. But if I exercise with both weights and circuit training or some intense short training, I can lose a lost of weight even eating normally. |
ail221 | ^^Saturn in the 6th is good for overall changing bad eating habits. |

With Jupiter aspecting my sun... I love to eat. I got lap band surgery when I was 100 lbs over. Lost 50lbs but once again I'm on a plateau where I can't budge (200). Someone once told me that when transiting Saturn is trine, sextile or conjunct your ASC you can lose weight if you diet, because Saturn is a task master that keeps from cheating. |

Okay, good deal, I didn't know about the DNA asteroid! It is in Aries, so it's conjunct my Sun, Mercury, and Venus as well as residing in the 11H. It's also semi-square Jupiter! Aha! Sextile my ASC as well. So if Gemini is my ASC then Mercury would be my chart ruler, yeah? Mercury is conjunct Sun and Venus in Aries, sextile my ASC, quintile my Chiron in Cancer (2H), and squaring Saturn and Neptune. |
Kerosene | If dna conjuncts your chart ruler you should have excellent genes. Maybe it is a transit? I know my mom put on a lot of weight after a major surgery and now she lost nearly all of it. It took several years |
Jkitty | Try taking a pair of scissors and cutting out Jupiter from your natal chart |

I'm telling you, I swear it's mucking everything up. It's semi square my Sun and Venus too. |
Kerosene | jupiter squares my sun moon mercury and venus! People like to blame jupiter but it does not effect me for some reason. |

I have good luck with health I think considering my weight and my size, I'm able to move about more graceful than most who are the same. My DNA resides in the 11H though, so maybe it's a freak occurance. Maybe it's taking that "group" meaning literally and "grouping" fat cells together for me.
|
ail221 | Ehh I wouldn't blame jupiter or Taurus I am not huge and I have Jupiter conjunct my Sun and sextile my taurus asc. Just expansion in the right places. It could just be a long transit. |
Kerosene | ^^ hahahahha way to over analyze it.You should just work ya body! I doubt you even need to lose weight. Some people just look better with some meat on their bones. |

Your Moon is Taurus. Regardless of astrology, exercise and diet really work. There isn't really an easy way around this. Even skinny people need a good diet + exercise to stay healthy. |
hannaramaa | And my Moon is trine Saturn in Capricorn, but since it's just that aspect and that one sign out my Aries/Gemini gaggle I thought it would be trumped. Guess not, but yes I see your point. Very common sense, so my Taurus side understands. |
